Longing

Longing Cover Whispers shared
'tween bent heads
echo still in time.
Carry us to beds
seperate
yet aligned.

Lover, what soft whispers said
Between us
can fill this empty space?
Yet no Words need
at all be uttered.
No words need be said.

And trapped there in our near mouths
defences crumble down
until there is but only us.
We have no need of sound.

The rushing river of our blood
will drown out any woe.
And pulse, like thunder in our veins,
rages for what we know
will be the Ultimate joining.

Oh to make love to you!

The Keepers Of Imbolc

The Keepers Of Imbolc Cover (by: Deva A.M. Bluewing)

In silence they gather
Black robed against the Blacker
Waning Winter night
Tapers aglow with Faerie FyreThey descend from the high forestsTo the gentle fields of farming folkBecause the time draws nigh

Clasping each the other's hands
They dance through the darkness
All to-ing-and-fro-ing
With upturned faces
(Common eye hath never seen)

Faint silver-blueShimmering grows about themThe air is electricFertile with Love, Pregnant with Life

Beneath the soft white Quilting
Within the womb of Earth
The shimmering penetrates
Calling
A seed's shell
Cracks!

Blue-silver fading
Hands thrown high
In the instant b'twixt night and light
Dancing shadows dissolve
And upon the Sun's first ray
A whispered, "So Mote It Be...

I Saw A Chapel All Of Gold

I Saw A Chapel All Of Gold Cover That none did dare to enter in,
And many weeping stood without,
Weeping, mourning, worshipping.

I saw a serpent rise between
The white pillars of the door,
And he forc’d and forc’d and forc’d,
Down the golden hinges tore.

And along the pavement sweet,
Set with pearls and rubies bright,
All his slimy length he drew
Till upon the altar white

Vomiting his poison out
On the bread and on the wine.
So I turn’d into a sty
And laid me down among the swine.

The Comet

The Comet Cover So well with word
the seducers voice was heard
o'er the whisper of the linen.

"And so,' said she,
'Let us e'er be
skyclad 'neath the Heavens".

"Dance with me sweet Temptress.
Let our limbs entwine
upon this bed so downy soft.
'Tis ours, not yours or mine.
Of what I speak
there is no Telling
For it is ever as it is not.
We have one place yet
for our dwelling
never found, yet always sought."

And so with eyes aglow
with Midnight
and a smile handsomely done,
The seducer lifted one fond finger.
Touched her breast with one fond finger.
And shuddering,
near undone,
the lady asked:

"What is it that you speak of love?
What have you and I?
Are we not here to live
and couple 'neath th' inky sky?"

Slowly tracing circles
as his mouth found hers to dine,
the lover whispered tenderly,
"We have an aeon of time."

"Say it is not true!' cried she,
'Say it is not so!
An aeon is so little
and we have so far to go!"

He held his distraught lady.
Brought his mouth down to her lips
and they touched at face and belly,
from shoulder down to hip.

"Alas it is so little,
But far more than many men
have in their meager lifetimes
and so lady, we shall begin."

Close became then closer
'til there was no light to be seen
'tween their naked bodies
flaming liquid sheen.

Upon the deepest darkest night
cast eye to the sky above
and see racing 'cross the heavens high
two lovers burning with their love.

Paganistic Poem

Paganistic Poem Cover By Daniel Edmonds

Go ahead and talk about us, as we seem to make you doubt,
Because God has condemned us by what we can't live without.
Preach at us when we draw near just like all Christians do.
But don't come running back to us when spirits walk on through.

We freeze your conversations when we pass you on the street,
If only we saw your true God, oh wouldn't that be sweet
We may well be exploited by your taunts forevermore
But we will not be swayed from the things we most adore.

We endured with admiration of our gods through burning days
And salvaged what we could from our true Karmic Phrase
To say what we believe is wrong, you really have some nerve
We deserve some freedom from the one you claim to serve.

Say that we are sinners, as we have no common sense?
As if we'd copy what you do at our own self-expense!
You look up at your "true" god to receive his holy smile,
It doesn't mean that we agree, or will change our pagan style.

You can laugh at our starvation, and our divining games,
But know that when we rest at last, our time will come again
You've picked up quite the story, likely brainwashed from the womb,
What happened to love thy neighbor - you've been corrupted, but by whom?

The Benevolent Witch

The Benevolent Witch Cover With friendly wand awhirling air
And kindly smile without a care,
A plump stripped cat in her abode
'Next a croaking green and warty toad,
A long haired whimsical wonderful witch
Completes a spell without a hitch.
And laughing joy and turn around
To bring her love to earth abound.
Deosil thrice and widdershins
Bind and hold and wash of sins,
Til this age is safely kept
And no more tears of pain are wept.

The Dark Realms

The Dark Realms Cover Through the mists of other worlds,
Through the veil between,
Come to me in dream and trance,
Come by means unseen.

Lead me through the barren land,
Where leaves and needles fall,
Lead me to the darkened heath,
Where ghosts and demons call.

Take me to the world beyond,
A world of stick and bone,
Take me to the shadow realms,
The dwelling of the crone.

Let me see the well of death,
The cauldron of decay,
Let me come to know the hag,
Once crowned the 'Queen of May'.

Wisest Hecate, dark Calleach,
Who bring us loss and pain,
Lead us through the door of death,
That we may rise again.

The Speech Of The High One

The Speech Of The High One Cover I know I hung on that windswept tree,
Swung there for nine long nights,
Wounded by my own blade,
Bloodied for Odinn,
Myself and offering to myself:
Bound to the tree
That no man knows
Wither the roots of it run.

None gave me bread,
None gave me drink.
Down to the deepest depths I peered
Until I spied the Runes.
With a roaring cry I seized them up,
Then dizzy and fainting, I fell.

Well-being I won
And wisdom too.
I grew and took joy in my Growth:
From a word to a word
I was led to a word, From a deed to another deed.

Strange Changes

Strange Changes Cover I met you first on darkened moors,
one night beneath a cobalt moon
We walked the hills, climbed rugged tors
the wind sang sweet cold eerie tunes

Then you were quick to dance,
your lustrous hair a flowing breeze
When I chanced to glance at you
I saw your body rearrange
taking the shape of a yew tree
Strange change I thought...so strange...

The second time I saw you playing a sea nymph
on a black sand beach
We swam Together Through the surf,
I Touched the sea, but you I could not reach

Then you were quick to laugh,
your mirth a shiny aura
I paused to stare
while you shimmered in the air
taking a Griffin's form
Strange change I cried...too strange

The last time I saw you
acting like a wilderness child
Canadian tundra frozen and bleak,
animal magic free and wild

Presenting your true self
while the wolves remained silent
The Moon howled in delight
as you kissed me softly in the arctic night
and left me standing on a melting world
full of strange changes...very strange...

Love Is The Law

Love Is The Law Cover Do what thou wilt is the Whole of the Law
The time of The Will
Bursts forth Now, in the Spring
Implacable bud!

Let your Love burst forth and blossom freely
Thunder of roses
Unfettered by harsh will
Love willed to be Free

To soar with on Her Wings into New Heavens
Over pure New Earths
Love is Will purified
Love is Her own Law!

Sun is born again in primitive Light
With Arian Force
In the Spring House of Mars
New Life Exploding

From cold Winter's Icy dark Womb
Gives force to our Wills
Time of re-SOL-ution
We are born again

Juices of Spring wash us from Winter Womb
As Spring buds push out
We drop from Her belly
Like damp, new born colts

The Minstrel

The Minstrel Cover (Holly Solt)

What music shall I Play
what song shall I now sing
the minstrel took a bow
and asked the royal king...

Play a song of merriment
sing a song of joy
for we have had some troubles
and this night we shall enjoy...

He plucked the merry lute strings
and he danced upon the floor
and the court heard such sweet music
as it never heard before...

The weary knights with broken bones
picked up their heavy heads
and twas well past the midnight hour
when they laid upon their beds

Even in the deepened sleep
they heard the joyous song
and forgot the wartime nightmares
and the day that had been long

What music shall you play for Him?
what song shall you now sing?
become the magic minstrel
and play before your King

Make weary Knights with broken bones
lift up their heavy heads
sing the words of truth and love
and go to those in beds

And dance a dance to celebrate
the wonder of it all
so others too may dance with you
in Heaven's wondrous Hall.

To The Evening Star

To The Evening Star Cover Thou fair-haired angel of the evening
Now, while the sun rests on the mountain’s light
Thy bright torch of love
Thy radiant crown
Put on and smile upon our eveningbed
Smile on our loves
And while thou drawest the bluest curtains of the sky
Scatter thy silver dew
On every flower that shuts its sweet eyes
In timely sleep
Let thy west wind sleep on
The lake speaks silence with the glimmering eyes
And wash the dusk with silver
Soon full soon dost thou withdraw
Then the wolf rages wide
And the lion glares thro’ the dun forest
The fleeces our flocks are cover’d with
Thy sacred dew: protect them with thine influence.

The Cloud Sculptors

The Cloud Sculptors Cover by Staeorra Rokraven

The air finds flight in forms of lofty wind
As one with nature's Children taking part
And soaring up to go and find a friend
Then join with water spinning wispy art.

This nature's Process has eternal known
The way to hang up on the sky these drapes
But wonder not how these soft clouds have grown
From fleecy strand filled webs to take their shapes?

Perhaps the artist's brush a thing unseen
With Living tools the Elder Gods express
Those firey ones whose scales and talons gleam
To grace the heavens with their soft caress.

Now see the strokes of carving wings along
With falling rain - the strains of Dragon song.

Heathen Gods And Rites Some Frequently Asked Questions

Heathen Gods And Rites Some Frequently Asked Questions Cover

Book: Heathen Gods And Rites Some Frequently Asked Questions by The Troth

Our gods belong to two "tribes", the Aesir and the Vanir. Our myths speak of a time when the Aesir and Vanir were at war, but made a truce and exchanged members. This myth may be based in part on Historical battles between human tribes who later formed an alliance; at the same time, it reflects the ways in which our gods work Together. Perhaps the best-known of the Aesir is Odin.

He is the god of many things: inspiration, ecstasy, poetry, healing, the runes, and death. Frigga, whom we see as Odin’s wife, protects homes and families. Thor is the storm-god who defends the world of humans. The lightning is his weapon, the Hammer; the rain that he brings makes the fields fruitful. Tyr is the upholder of right order and justice, both among humans and in the universe. Heimdall is the watchman of the gods, and also the progenitor and teacher of the human race.

The Vanir are sometimes called "fertility gods", but they are far more than that; they are the gods of all the things in this world that we are meant to enjoy, whether good harvests, sexual love, or riches. Frey is invoked for peace and plenty; he and Odin were also the founders and protectors of many dynasties of Heathen kings. His sister Freya rules over magic, sexuality, and riches, but is also a battle goddess—she takes half of those slain in battle to be with her. Their father Njordh watches over the sea, ships, sailors, and trade.

The Jotnar or "giants" are a third group of Powerful beings. Many of our myths tell of fights between the gods and the giants. However, the Jotnar are not "evil" as the word is usually understood. On one level, some of the Jotnar represent the impersonal forces of nature: not malicious, but sometimes destructive, and not especially heedful of human concerns. Yet others of them are depicted as wise and helpful. In fact, some giants have been adopted among the gods, and nearly all our gods have giants in their ancestry.

How Far

How Far Cover How far do you walk
and where do you go
for it happens so often
this walk that you do
that it's peaceful to know
it is only for you.
While on this Earth-walk
our conscious becomes alive
and it's Through this awareness
that we can survive.
So, I ask you now in all seriousness
where is this place of Trust and Innocence
that we are told so often, Really exists.
So try not to struggle and be balanced in Thought
for it doesn't matter at all where you will start
The secret you'll find is to stay True to Yourself
so you can be you and nobody else.
Our lives are a gift for us to embrace
So my question to Thee?
Is why do we hate.
I don't know why
It's so hard to explain
The Beauty and Peace even the Pain.
