Spring Maiden Invokation

Spring Maiden Invokation Cover
From the bower of the green earth we call thee
Maiden of the spring stars,
Virgin moon and reflected sun,
The power of growth is within thee.

Virgin queen we call forth thy dance
Upon the green hills and fields,
Flowers bloom beneath thy feet
And thy crown is woven of blossoms, wild and free.

Thou art the cauldron of rebirth whose waters
Quench the thirst that lies between winter and summer,
Shimmering between night and day.

Maiden we call to thee,
Let the saps rise and the buds unfurl.
Maiden of spring we invoke thee!

Hallow Carols

Hallow Carols Image
Halloween Carols

Halloween Carols

All right, here they are, the Halloween Carols...some were written by Swarthmore students, some by Palo Alto High School students, and bits from original Charles Shultz material. And some just kind of spontaneously evolved.

1. JOY TO THE WORLD (to the tune of JOY TO THE WORLD.)

Joy to the world,
It's Halloween.
The night of fright has come!
This time of year we wait.
We hope he won't be late.
The Great Pumpkin will come,
The Great Pumpkin will come,
The Great, The GREAT Pumpkin will come.

He rules the world,
On Hallow's Eve.
He's coming here tonight.
Let's go into the pumpkin patch
They'll put us in the booby hatch,
But we will have such fun,
But we will have such fun,
But we, But we will have such fun.

2. HUMPHREY THE BLUE-NOSED PUMPKIN (to the tune of Rudolph the...)

Humphrey the blue-nosed pumpkin had a very obvious nose.
And if you ever saw it, you might even say it shows.
All of the other pumpkins, used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Humphrey play in any pumpkin games.

Then one foggy Halloween Eve, the Great Pumpkin did say,
"Humphrey, with your nose so blue, you'll make all the ghosts say BOO!"

Then all the pumpkins loved him, and they shouted out with glee,
Humphrey, the blue-nosed pumpkin, You'll go down in history!

3. O Skeletons! (to the tune of O Tannenbaum!)

O skeletons! O skeletons!
Rattle down my hallway!
O skeletons! O skeletons!
Rattle in my attic.

Let them know, the day is here,
When your spirit will appear.
O skeletons! O skeletons!
Rattle through your graveyard.

4. God Rest Ye Merry Spirits

God rest ye merry spirits, let nothing you dismay.
Witches stirring bubbling cauldrons, smelling of decay.
To save you all from Satan's Po'er before your hair turns gray.
Oh tidings of horror and fright,
Horror and fright!
Oh tidings of horror and fright.

5. Spooky Night (to the tune of Silent Night.)

Spooky Night, Halloween Night,
All is cold, nothing's right.
Round yon pumpkin glowing away.
People singing in the doorway.
Sing in devilish glee-ee.
Singing in devilish glee.

6. The First Halloween

The First Halloween
The parents did scream
At the children in costumes
Who stole all the treats.

"Go away, go away!"
The spirits did say.
"You're taking our business,
So come back in May!"

7. We Three Ghosts (to the tune of We Three Kings)

We three ghosts of Halloween are
Scaring kids who wander too far.
Trick or treating, candy eating,
Watching for the Halloween Star.

Oh...oh...

Star of darkness, star of fright.
Star of every gruesome sight.
West winds howling, cat's a-yowling,
Let us play some tricks tonight!

8. Obligatory Solutions (to the tune of Jingle Bells.)

Dashing through the streets,
Meeting goblins as we go,
Wearing contour sheets,
Wishing it would snow.

Bells in doorways ring,
Making spirits bright,
What fun it is to come and sing
And get some food tonight.

Trick or treat, trick or treat, trick or treat we say!
Try to get the treats before the ghost takes us away!
Trick or treat, trick or treat, trick or treat we say!
If you don't have treats for us we'll never go away!

9. Ghosties We Have Heard on High

Ghosties we have heard on high,
Groaning horribly o'er the plains.
And the witches in reply,
Cacklin' their eerie strains:

Boooooooooooooooooooooo
On this Halloween Night we cry:
Boooooooooooooooooooooo
On this Halloween Night we cry.

Spirits why this jubilee?
Why your ghastly tunes prolong.
What these gruesome tidings be,
Which inspire your evil song.

Boooooooooooooooooooooo
On this Halloween Night we cry:
Boooooooooooooooooooooo
On this Halloween Night we cry.

10. Deck the Halls

Deck the halls with poison ivy,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
'Tis the season to be slimy,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
Don we now our strange apparel,
fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Halloween carol,
fa la la la la, la la la la.

See the goblins rise before us,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
As we sing the Halloween chorus,
fa la la la la, la la la la.
Follow them as they ascend,
fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Join with all your loony friends,
fa la la la la, la la la la.

11. The Grim Reaper is Coming to Town.

Oh, you better not shriek, you better not groan,
You better not howl, you better not moan.
The Grim Reaper is coming to town!

He's gonna find out from folks that he meets,
Who should have arsenic put in their treats.
Grim Reaper is coming to town!

He'll search in every graveyeard,
Haunted houses far and near,
To see if you should stay alive,
Or die right here in fear!

So, you better not shriek, you better not groan,
You better not howl, you better not moan.
The Grim Reaper is coming to town!

12. On the First Day of Halloween

On the First Day of Halloween, my Swamp Thing gave to me:

A hoot owl in a dead tree.
Two trick or treaters,
Three black cats,
Four skeletons,
Five Snicker bars,
Six goblins gobbling,
Seven pumpkins glowing,
Eight monsters shrieking,
Nine ghosts a-booing,
Ten ghouls a-groaning,
Eleven masks a-leering,
Twelve bats a-flying.

13. Spirit Wonderland (to the tune of Winter Wonderland)

Screech owls hoot, are you listening?
'Neath the moon, all is glistening.
A real scary sight, we're happy tonight.
Waitin' in a spirit wonderland.

In the streets, we're begging for some candy.
We've been waiting for this night all year.
We've tried to embarrass everybody,
And to make a costume filling you with fear.

Later on, while we're eating
What we got trick or treating.
We'll share all our sacks
Of Halloween snacks,
Waitin' in a spirit wonderland.

14. Shivery Yells

We're on sidewalks, we're on porches,
Dressed in costumes to scare.
Through the city we're ringing the doorbells.
Trick or treating, candy eating,
Gooey stuff in our hair,
But the most fun is shrieking out loud,
"Shivery yells! Shivery yells!"
That's the Halloween nitty-gritty.
"Moan and Groan. Leave us alone.
Halloween's just one night a year."

Suggestions for songs to convert:
Frosty the snowman
Good King Wenceslas
O Little Town of Bethlehem
We wish you a Merry Christmas
Hark the Herald Angel sings.

An incomplete song so far:

Ooooh - the lurking werewolves howl,
warning us of fiends most fowl. ( to Hark the Herald...)

And a really scary one:

We wish you assorted vegetables,
We wish you the cheddar cheese bake,
We wish you the chili nachos,
And the Rice Croquettes.
(Cheeseless rice...Salad bar...where in the Hell did I park my car...)

Ahab And Other Poems

Ahab And Other Poems Cover

Book: Ahab And Other Poems by Aleister Crowley

Mr. Crowley has amplified the Biblical narrative, has given to the savage figure of Ahab some-thing of the nobility of reason that rebels Against the tyranny of his fate. There is a modern self-consciousness in this tragic, brooding monologue. Mr. Aleister Crowley's previous work has been eccentric, and at the best he has done more to provoke curiosity than to give confidence. Now he chooses to handicap himself by printing his poems in a type that must inevitably impose restrictions upon many readers.

Hail Mary 2

Hail Mary 2 Cover
by Darlene Kenney

Hail Mary, full of grace
The dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven,
You are the white moon among the stars
And the desire of human hearts.
You are the mystery that if that which I seek
I find not within, I will never find it without.
For You were here at the beginning
And You are that which is attained at the end of
desire.

Winter Solstice Song For Yule

Winter Solstice Song For Yule Cover
LYRICS:

On the longest night we search for the light,

And we find it deep within.

Open your eyes to embrace what is wise,

And see the light of your own soul shining.

(Chorus)

Wrap up in the cloak of starry darkness my child,

And you'll find the center of all things.

For from this space of the deepest dark place,

Life Eternal does spring.

(Chorus)

So when you find that spark

When you dream in the dark,

Hold it close to your heart and know.

All that you see is all that can be

When you give birth to the dreams of your soul.

Chorus:

Enter the night and you'll find the light,

That will carry you to your dreams.

Enter the night, let your spirit take flight,

In the field of infinite possibilities

Guardians

Guardians Cover She calls the power to
Women in Circle dance.
She drums the Heartbeat forth,
drowning out Darkening.

Dragoning magic rites,
blindfolded, sword sharpened,
firelit, the other woman
beckons the Hearkening.

Singing with tambourines,
Conscience bared, FireJumpers;
leaping the passions that
threaten the journeying.

Meditate mystery,
Back through the labyrinth
sacred of ancient ones,
corridors echoing.

Drums she the Silver Chord
tying their spirits down;
sounding the pressure waves
pushed forth by blood surging.

Smoke draws the elements
Thunder and Lightening.
Wise one in Center is
singing the Ripening.

Back from the Underground
sleepwalk the Dreaming Ones.
Up through the thicket and
stone are they wandering.

She who is warding Death,
ceases with brandishing.
Open is Circle and
ended the Gathering.

The Charge Of The Triple Goddess

The Charge Of The Triple Goddess Image
Today I wanted to do something different. I found the following poem awhile ago and would love to share it with everyone...and to the unknown author, I thank you for sharing something so beautiful and magical. I am sure most of you have seen this already.

"I AM THE WANING MOON, "THE GODDESS WHO IS FADING FROM THE LAND."
"IN THE SPRINGTIME I SOUGHT MY LORD" AND MATED WITH HIM BENEATH THE TREES AND STARS."
"AT BELTANE I WED MY LORD BENEATH THE FIRST BLOSSOMS OF THE HAWTHORN TREE"
"AND IN THE SUMMERTIME I RIPENED THE APPLES IN THE ORCHARDS,"
"AND THE FRUIT GREW ROUND AND STRONG LIKE THE SEED IN MY WOMB."
"AND AT HARVEST I CUT DOWN MY LORD, THAT BY HIS DEATH OUR PEOPLE MIGHT BE FED."
"AND NOW IN AUTUMN-TIME, I DESCEND BENEATH THE EARTH"
"TO DWELL WITH MY LORD IN HIS DARK KINGDOM UNTIL OUR CHILD IS BORN."
"AT THE WINTER SOLSTICE I WILL BRING FORTH THE CHILD AND RENEW OUR HOPE,"

And at Candlemas, I myself will return to renew the land.

"I LEAVE YOU, BUT I RETURN TO YOU"
"WHEN YOU SEE MY POWER FADE, AND THE LEAVES FALL FROM THE TREES."
"WHEN THE SNOW OBLITERATES LIKE DEATH ALL TRACE OF ME UPON THE EARTH."
"THEN LOOK FOR ME UPON THE MOON AND THERE IN THE HEAVENS,"
"YOU WILL SEE THE SOUL OF ME SOARING AMONGST THE STARS."
"AND IN THAT DARKEST TIME WHEN THE MOON IS COVERED BY SHADOW,"
"AND THERE IS NO TRACE OF ME IN HEAVEN OR ON EARTH;"
"WHEN YOU LOOK OUTWARD AND YOUR LIVES SEEM COLD, DARK, AND BARREN,"
"LET NO DESPAIR EAT AT YOUR HEARTS."
"FOR WHEN I AM HIDDEN, I AM BUT RENEWING."
"WHEN I AM WANING, I AM MAKING READY FOR RETURN."
"REMEMBER MY PROMISE AND LOOK WITHIN YOU,"
"AND THERE YOU WILL FIND THE SPIRT OF ME AWAITING THOSE WHO SEEK."

For by the well-spring of your being, I await you always.

"I AM DIANA IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH PERSEPHONE"
"AND WITHIN YOU DARK HECATE"
"TRIPLE AM I; THE ONLY ONE IN THREE"
"MY BODY IS THE EARTH; MY SOUL IS THE MOON"
"AND WITHIN THINE INNERMOST SELF...THAT ETERNAL SPIRIT OF ME."

Comes Alive

HERE IS A GYPSY TRANSLATION OF THE LORD'S PRAYER:

My sweet God,

who art there in Heaven,

may thy name come hallowed;

may thy kingdom come hither;

may they do all that thou wishest upon earth,

as in Heaven.

Give me to-day my daily bread,

and forgive me all that I cannot pay thee,

as I shall forgive other men all that they do not pay me.

Do not let me fall into evil desire;

but take me out from all wickedness.

For thine is the kingdom,

thine the power,

thine the glory now and ever.

Go with God!

Stay with God!

Go, for God's sake!

Stay, for God's sake!

By God!

Whenever cannibals are on the brink of starvation, Heaven, in its infinite mercy, sends them a nice plump missionary.

-Oscar Wilde

Wealth can not exist in the wrong place.

Growth can not exist where no foundation is established.

Prosperity occurs where good foundation is set at the right place.

Anything worth doing is worth doing slow.

ELEPHANT WONDERING

A seed

Has sprouted beneath a golden leaf

In a dark forest.

This seed is seriously contemplating

Seriously wondering about

The moseying habits

Of the Elephant.

Why?

Because

In this lucid, wine-drenched tale

The Elephant is really --

God,

Who has

His big foot upon us,

Upon the golden leaf under which lies

This sprouting

Universe

Wherein

We are all a little concerned

And

Nervous.

-Hafiz

Here is a prayer for unexpected income:

We dwell in the midst of infinite abundance.

The abundance of God is our infinite source.

The river of life is always flowing.

It flows through us into lavish expression.

Good comes to us through unexpected avenues.

God works in myriad ways to bless us.

We now open our minds to receive our good and wonderful things

begin to happen.

With God as our source, everything amazes us.

We give freely and fearlessly into life and life gives back to

us with fabulous increase.

Blessings come in expected and unexpected ways.

God provides for us and we are grateful.

And so it is.

The Prosperity Prayer

by Lynn Robinson Copyright 2002

"Dear God "

"I surrender my financial affairs and concerns about money to your Divine care and love."I ask that you remove my worries, anxieties and fears about money, and replace them with faith.

I know and trust that my debts will be paid and money will flow into my life.

I have only to look to nature to see proof of the abundance you provide.

I release all negative thoughts about money, and know that prosperity is my true state.

I commit to being grateful for all that I now have in my life.

I learn to manage my finances wisely, seeking help where needed.

And finally, I ask you to help me understand my purpose in life and to act on that purpose with courage and strength.

I know that prosperity will come, in part, by doing work I love.

Please help me use my skills and knowledge to be of service in the world.

Thank you, God.

Amen

GOD SPEAK TO ME

The man whispered,

"God speak to me."

And a meadowlark sang,

but the man did not hear.

Then the man yelled,

"God speak to me."

And thunder rolled across the sky,

but the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said,

"God let me see you."

And the stars shined brightly,

but the man did not notice.

And the man shouted,

"God show me a miracle!"

And a life was born,

but the man did not know.

So the man cried out in despair,

"Touch me God and let me know you are here."

Whereupon,

God reached down and touched the man,

but the man brushed the butterfly away

and walked on.

So remember,

don't miss out on a blessing

just because it isn't packaged the way you expect.

Take notice of the things around you.

A beautiful exerpt from an article posted at the Yunsai Society can be found on this page. It is too long to post here, but is well worth reading.

A Charm For Samhain

A Charm For Samhain Image
"The next in the series of gaelic high-day charms. In all of these cases I have composed them as riddles of a sort. A student who can riddle out all the references in these charms probably knows the High day lore pretty well."

End of Summer, summoned
Herd Culling; Head Taking
Mead Making; Dead Calling
I keep the Feast of Samhain!
First of the Fallen, you I call
Son of the Warrior; Eldest of Brothers
Lord of the Feast in the House of the Dead.
Take now this offering here at my Fire.
Wrathful Red Goddess, you I call
Queen of the Spirits, Daughter of Danu
Mare of the Stallion, Crow of the Corpses
Take now my offering, here at my Fire.
Host of the Ancestors, this is your feasting.
Apples I give you, fruit of the Gods
Bread I give you, flesh of the Land
Ale I give you, blood of the Cauldron
Come you from the Isle of Apples
Come you from the Dark One's House
Come you through the Door of the Hinge
And give your blessing to our year!

So, all you Powers, I give you welcome at my Fire. Let your light be reflected in my spirit, let your ale flow in my veins. I raise this glass to you, and drink to your divine power. Let me know the health, wealth and wisdom of the Gods and Spirits on this holy feast of Samhain! So be it!

Offerings: For the Deities, oil or incense, for the Dead as specified: Apples, bread and ale. Work the rite close to your hearth, or at a tomb.

Sacred Trees

Sacred Trees Cover Sacred trees
You among all creation deserve high honor.
For all your long life your arms you raise,
Heaven-ward in endless praise,
Leaves upturned to the sun,
To the face of the God of Life.

Sacred trees
You among all creation deserve love.
You give of yourself freely, as laden branches bend.
You give of yourself completely, your fruit, your wood; your end
Becomes a new Beginning
As you return your gift of life
And once again to the body of Mother Earth.

Sacred trees
You among all creation deserve sanctification.
Giving of yourself, from without and within
You sow no hate, you make no sin
You give to us the breath of life, even as you die.
Pray we too, learn to live as trees.

The Abyss And Tabaet A Study Of Adversarial Mythology In Magick

The Abyss And Tabaet A Study Of Adversarial Mythology In Magick Cover

Book: The Abyss And Tabaet A Study Of Adversarial Mythology In Magick by Michael Ford

The purpose of the following essay is to not only examine masks worn by the fallen angels throughout history as well as to examine the etymology of the spirit of self-liberation and opposition from the praxis of occult thought. The very passing of power in the Circle of Witchcraft And Sorcery is the averse way of bringing into union Daemon and Man, the intent of the Adversary is life and the Immortality of the spirit. As “Luciferian Witchcraft” and “Liber HVHI” provide a foundation of sorcery which incorporates an interwoven praxis of Antinomianism and self-deification, the essential origins of the Daemonic Feminine and Masculine should be further understood by its origins.

What is regarded as common knowledge depicts that the Luciferian spirit, what is found are the associative traits and that the Adversary has existed long before Christianity. The Avestan texts as well as the Denkard provide a wealth of knowledge of Ahriman from a right hand path point of view, consider as such a veil which can only be passed through by the Great Work of initiation.

The names and cultural expressions of the Adversary are briefly explored as an introduction, from the ancient Persian, Hebraic and even Norse, the Adversary appears in each. As tempter, war maker, wisdom bringer and devouring predatory spirit. Look to the common aspects which make the Opposer as a force of initiation.

Lucifer/Ahriman/Samael is a spirit which is made viable through the Adept his/herself, this force is expressive of the individual, thus each manifestation unique as the initiate in question.
