Prayer Al Basit

Prayer Al Basit Image
Al - Basit

Have We not opened up thy heart,

and lifted from thee the burden that had weighed so heavily on thy back?

And have We not raised thee high in dignity?

And, behold, with every hardship comes ease:

verily, with every hardship comes ease!

Hence, when thou art freed from distress,

remain steadfast, and unto thy Sustainer turn with love.

Sometimes, in order to help, He makes us miserable;

but heartache for His sake brings happiness.

Laughter will come after tears.

Whoever foresees this is a servant blessed by God.

Wherever water flows, life flourishes:

wherever tears fall, Divine mercy is shown.

Rumi, Mathnawi I:817-820, tr. Helminski

Drinking Cold Water

Drinking Cold Water Image
Almost twenty years

Since you put on your one good dress

And lay down in the shale hills of Pennsylvania.

What you expected from life was nothing much,

And it came

And so it was.

In California I mourned and then forgot,

Though sometimes, in a mirror,

I saw someone walk from the weeds,

Stepping from a shine of water,

And it was you, shining.

Tonight I brought my bundle of years

To an empty house.

When I opened it, a boy walked out,

Drinking cold water, watching the

Moon rise slim and shining over your house.

Whatever it was I wanted

Must have come and gone.

Twenty years, grandmother.

Here I stand

In the poverty of my feet,

And I know what you'd do:

You'd enter your black shawl,

Step back into the shadows of your hair.

And that's no help tonight

All I can think of is your house-

The pump at the sink

Spilling a trough of clear

Cold water from the well-

And you, old love,

Sleeping in your dark dress

Like a hard, white root.

Mother Goddess

Mother Goddess Image
Sent in and posted by Peter Farley on a forum.... Jewels

Chief Golden Eagle calls all Ikce Wicasa, medicine men-women, people

of all nations, all nations of black, red, yellow and white, all nations

of color and heart, to spend a moment on 1-11-11 at 11:11 am and 11:11

pm, to pray for the Nations of Mother Earth to Wake Up!

The AIR is polluted, the bird nations have spoken with their lives.

They have given of themselves to remind humanity that our AIR is

contaminated.

The WATER is polluted and the ones that swim have spoken with their

lives. They have also given of themselves to remind humanity that our

WATER is contaminated.

The FIRE has been abused by man. Atom has been split, atom bomb,

hydrogen, bomb, many others beyond the mind of heart.

The Earth is being shaken by the toys of man, yes mother earth smiles,

but she also can correct a child, just as two-legs correct their

children.

Take heed people, karma follows every action, every word and every

thought. Karma follows all those that allow atrocities to fall out of

the natural rhythm of the Universal and Spiritual Laws of Creator,

Universal Mother and of Creation. The sisters, the children and Mother

Earth may soon speak their message through the word of the land.

Allow our hearts to be as ONENESS on 1-11-11, through this Law of

Attraction, of Light, Sound and Vibration we can and will succeed.

Plant the seed of Peace, Love, Respect, Harmony, Honor, Healing and

Truth.

The nations of peace have arrived, and as Patriots of Light, we must

light their path through our actions of love. Therefore, understand, O

Peoples, that the Healing Prayers and Powers are indeed flowing

through your forms even now. And through these prayers and powers - the

Thirteen Rainbow Powers of the Sacred tree of Life - you may send Love

and Healing to all of your Relations in any time, in any place, in any

dimension of life.

The Creator does bestow the responsibility upon the Peoples again. For

the Two-Legged is the steward and guardian of the Earth and is

responsible for the Kingdoms of Life to be in balance and in health.

This is a health which transcends your physical dimensions and dost

reach unto the Stars: for every plant has its Star Clan; every Stone

has its Stellar home; every Animal is a consciousness from Elsewhere; and

every Two-Legged indeed is Starry born.

Making Your Wand

Making Your Wand Image
What you need for your personal magick wand is a hazel stick, at least one meter long (you can use a longer one if you wish). You need to cut it of the hazel tree personally using your athame. Best time to cut it is in the night of the full Moon in the hour when it is 100% full.It should be thick enough to fit in your hand normaly.

Just before you cut the stick out chant these words:

"Permission i seek of thee,Blessed be my hand,To take what i needFrom your sacred land."

Now cut out the stick and draw the symbols of the four elements (fire, water, earth and air) on it. On one end of the stick draw the symbol of the God and on the other end you need to draw the symbol of the Goddess. You can also draw other symbols you think are important or decorate your future wand as you wish.

Now take the stick with both hands and hold it in the direction of the moon and chant:

"By the light of the moon
Through this mystic night
Blessed be this wand
In this sacred rite.

By the Guardians of the South
Oh masters of Fire
Bless this wand
Fulfill my desire.

By the Guardians of the North
Oh masters of Earth
Bless this wand
Witness its birth.

By the Guardians of the West
Oh masters of Water
Bless this wand
In your watery quarter.

By the Guardians of the East
Oh masters of Air
Bless this wand
Your power now share.

Let this sacred tool
Created in the name of Thee
Channel my will
So mote it be!"

Solitary Transitioning

Solitary Transitioning Image
This specifically was created as a self-dedication to the Solitary path...A little background on me to have it make sense. The Lady gave me a kick in the butt at Samhain that if I did not go solitary and begin caring for myself, and doing my own work, I wouldn't be able to keep going...internal stuff having to do with compulsive care giving and a rather extended feeling of depression and ineffectiveness....I am 3rd degree, I am a White Horse Tribal elder, I gave up my coven and my teaching grove and started working by myself...and it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I feel a little odd posting it, but enjoy.

Shadow-Facing/Solitary Ritual
by medusa

Circle casting-
Ravaged Kore, holds together by will
barren Demeter, Demeter of Tears
Hecate, Crown of Bones, Cauldron of Wisdom..
Keep thic circle safe
Keep this circle together
Keep this here, in the borders, safe,
as I cannot
Keeping it in will kill me.

East-
Tornado and desert wind
Winds of a force to banish delusion
Winds to blow sands of denial away
Winds hot and cold, harsh and gentle
Be here.....

South-
Forest fire, volcano
Coals and white-hot fire
Burn me, let me feel something
Burn me, down to the bones
Burn me, Warm me, Come back to me
Let me feel
Let me will again, let me Be
Be here.

West-
Tidal Wave, hurricane, thunderstorm on my skin
Let tears come
Salve my soul or drown me,
but no more tidal pools.
No mosquito laden pools, none.
Never again.
Be here, moving water.

North-
Bones and roots,
Steel, blood, and life
Ancient ancestors
by all that is holy
keep me from dying.
Aside from that,
I will not ask you for safety
or shelter for my soul.
Walls have done me too much harm.
Be here.

Invocations

Three-faced Lady
be here for your child
be here for your broken one
be here, hold me, carry me
love me, let me know you're here.
May I never lose you again.

Lord in all your faces
hold me in your strong arms
warm me, be here for your silent one
show me paths through the underworld
into your Sun.
May I never lose you again.

(place scarf over head)
This is where I have been.
(remove)
This is where I am, by my will.

(cut finger with athame, put blood on cakes)
This is my bond to myself
This is my vow to myself
This is my strength, listening to my blood.
This will be my saving,
Ingesting my inner nature.
I will face this shadow and know it.
By my Will, so mote it be.

I ask that the Lady and Lord bless me,
Keep me safe through this journey.
I dedicate myself as a solitary to this journey,
to travel this path for as long as it takes to know my destination and get there.
And keep going.
In the presence of the Mighty Ones, this I vow.
So mote it Be.

(trancing, cakes and wine, devocations, etc...I wrote in my journal during this circle, too.)

For those who would use this. It is a small piece of my soul. Please change it so it is a mirror of your soul, rather than being exactly as I've posted it.
And let me know what you think.

Blessed Be,
Walk on your Paths safely,
Medusa

Blessing Your Morning Coffee Ritual

Blessing Your Morning Coffee Ritual Image
In the morning, when you make your coffee, this is a great chant to chant while making it! What you'll need: a brown or white candle, ideally a coffee scented one, a coffee perculator, some coffee beans and a coffee grinder.

Light the candle. While grinding the coffee beans, chant this first verse:

"Yummy yummy coffee bean,

Fill my mug with hot caffeine.

Coffee, coffee, quickly send

Hazelnut, vanilla, chocolate blend."

If you don't have a grinder, just chant that verse over it. While putting the grinds in the machine, chant:

"Sun is rising, Great God Ra,

Your falcon wings bring me java.

Goddess Bast, your rattle shakes the grains

Of morning brew running through my veins."

While putting your sugar and cream in your favourite mug (while the coffee is brewing) chant:

"Bit of cream instead of milk,

Turns my coffee into silk.

Allow me a taste of sugar,

Without it my coffee is vulgar."

As you're mixing your coffee, chant:

"Rising sun's gift, all this caffeine,

Kitchen's percolator, supreme machine.

So Below, As Above,

This cup of coffee, I do love."

Now enjoy your perfect cup of coffee!

Reminiscence From A Khalwa Night

Reminiscence From A Khalwa Night Image
the khalwa has begun.

in the most secluded part of night,

far removed from ordinary sight

from the house of worship,

permeating its dome

vibrations of zikr rise

towards the Throne.

the dimly lit outer room of our mosque

creates

a quality of unknowingness.

i look outside the window facing the gardens

there to my surprise is our master's presence!

the master sits alone on the porch

in quietude of the night

leading his holy children

in recalling of Light.

upon his heart, upon his lips,

between Lord and him, goes on

ceaseless remembrance,

the sacred communion of grace.

on this blessed night

if you listened to the sound

of the caravan of khalwa,

you'd have listened only this: Allah! Allah!

note: during khalwa night (a sufi practice of spiritual retreat) the master (Sidi, may God sanctify his station), while zikr was going on inside the mosque, he himself sat outside, alone. i happened to seen him on such an occasion and it was a beautiful feeling to catch a glimpse of a realized master in his remembrance in solitude with God. the poem derived its inspiration from that glimpse on the night of khalwa (dec 18, 2007). alhamduli'Llah.

. khalwa means spiritual retreat, a tradition of the Prophet Muhammad and earlier Prophets. the opening of heart of Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace, happened also during a blessed night of khalwa or spiritual retreat in a cave of Jabal e Noor (Mountain of Light) near Mecca when divine revelation (Quran) began to descend upon his heart.

. zikr is remembrance of the Divine, can be inwardly, outwardly or both.

. Allah, the unique name of God, is invoked in zikr. Sheikh Shadhili, the founder of the Shadhiliyya path specifically emphasized on the practice of louder mode of remembrance on the particular Divine name 'Allah'.
